Spring blossoms again in the Kaysersberg valley
With a little advance notice, nature has already put on its spring clothes in Alsace at the beginning of March! With mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine, the weather is playing tricks on the calendar to give us lush green landscapes and budding trees…
You can see many trees in bloom along the vineyards, but also in the villages: inthe square in front of Saints-Pierre-et-Paul church in Sigolsheim, in the streets of the town of Kaysersberg.
On the hills of Mittelwihr, just a few kilometres away, the almond trees are in bloom, offering an extraordinary spectacle.
In Ribeauvillé, the majestic magnolia in the Jardin de Ville is blooming daily…
And the storks, which have been back in Alsace for a few weeks now, won’t mind: they’re busy building their nests right now. You can watch them in the fields, looking for food and twigs.
Spring and Easter events in Kaysersberg
With the return of spring, Easter festivities are just around the corner. And if you know anything about Alsace, you’ll know that Easter is particularly important in the region.
To help you prepare for Easter, Elise, the florist at La Linotte in Kaysersberg Vignoble, is organising a series of creative workshops. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of making an elegant wreath or table centrepiece. These workshops must be booked in advance.
The Kaysersberg Easter Market will be held on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March in the Cour de l’Arsenal. The craftsmen’s chalets will be offering unique creations, the Easter egg exhibition and sale will be taking place in the Salle de l’Arsenal, and the farmyard animals will be delighting the little ones.
From 28 March 2024, Colmar is the place to be this season! Colmar is celebrating spring and is setting up 2 Easter markets in the town, which will run until 28 April.
