Orbey is a paradise for hikers: it is the ideal place to start your hikes: it is a small town located a few kilometres from the Lac Blanc resort, with numerous sports activities: hiking, mountain biking, skiing, sledging, snowshoeing, 4-season Tricky Track, adventure park, or even a barefoot or play trail.
Loaded with history, it will also take you on a journey through time: at the Col du Wettstein, come and visit the Linge Memorial Museum, this preserved and protected battlefield of the First World War.
Did you know?
On the heights of Orbey, in the Rain des Chênes, are the Pierres Tremblantes (Trembling Stones). These huge stones were once used as oracles and to express God’s judgement. At sunrise, husbands would stand beneath them and shake the stones with their index finger to ensure their wives’ fidelity. This was only valid if their wife was not nearby, otherwise the result would be distorted!
