The Lac Blanc Ski Resort in the Kaysersberg Valley, backed against the Vosges Mountains, offers a whole range of winter sports. Here is a quick look to whet your adventurous spirit (and get on your the skis) : 4 marked paths for walking with snow rackets, 67 km (41 miles) cross country paths, 14 km (9 miles) of alpine ski pistes. There is some for all ages and all types!
You are excited on your skis or you would like to perfect your skills ? No problem, ESF (French Ski School) and also Switch, a snowboard specialized school, are here to teach you techniques and to have a good time on the slopes.
But the pure air of the mountain whets the appetite! It comes at the right place because the ski resort has what is needed to nourish and please the most voracious or the smallest of appetites. Classic or traditional dishes, chocolate or vin chaud (hot spice wine), make your choice!
But the Lac Blanc Ski Resort also has its head in the clouds. One day a week, the ski resort stays open from 5pm to 9.30 pm for nocturnal skiing (alpine only) using just the glow from the stars.
To get there, there is nothing simpler. A car equipped with snow tires (or chains) the ski resort is around 30km (18 miles) from Colmar and around 20km (12 miles) from Kaysersberg.
