Saint Nicholas celebration
The 6th December is a very important date in Alsace, the feast day of Saint Nicholas, patron saint of schoolchildren.
Lapoutroie celebrates this emblematic figure for an afternoon. Young and old alike can come and meet him.
It's an authentic festival held in different parts of the village.
- Médiathèque/ludothèque: presentation and sale of games as well as creative workshops to create Christmas arrangements.
- Foyer St Martin: workshop to make bredalas (Christmas cakes), basket-weaving activity, Christmas bricolas workshop to make baubles for birds.
- Salle des loisirs: ‘Contes au coin du feu’ by Franck Meinen. A family show for children aged 6 and over, free admission. Only in French.
- Place du vieux moulin: musical interludes, an introduction to role-playing, a fireworks display, gift ideas and crafts, snacks and delicacies.
- At the retirement home: learning to sing Christmas carols in Welche dialect, a small Christmas market for the residents of the old people's home and a Welche dialect table.

An authentic moment to celebrate the enchantment of the lights, in a friendly, warm and musical atmosphere, and to allow everyone to share a moment with their family, surrounded by friends and family.
