Cycling tour - Kaysersberg - Eguisheim - Colmar
A cycling tour with no particular difficulty. Partly flat with a more undulating profile at the start. Perfect for an ideal day out.
From Kaysersberg, follow the cycle path to Ammerschwihr, Katzenthal and then Turckheim. The short but sometimes steep climbs at the start of this route offer beautiful views over the Alsace vineyards and Vosges forests. After Turckheim, a pleasant wine-growing town, head for Eguisheim, birthplace of Pope Leo IX. Pass through Wettolsheim and its replica of the Lourdes grotto before arriving in Eguisheim. This pleasant little town is well worth a visit. On the way back to Kaysersberg, head for Colmar, where the cycle path cuts through fields before following a bucolic path that runs alongside the shady Lauch river. Stroll through the narrow streets of old Colmar before heading back to Kaysersberg via Sigolsheim and the Waldelust.
This cycling route is a great way to enjoy the charms of Alsace.
