Ammerschwihr
Wine enthusiast : Ammerschwihr opens their arms to you.
Birthplace of the Kaefferkopf, classed in 2007 as a great vintage, Ammerschwihr is a village that holds almost 40 vineyards. This vintage is the pride of its inhabitants who even created a wine brotherhood in its name. Heavily bombed during the Second World War, there are still some great charming buildings. The beautiful little vine garden at the foot of La Porte Haute (the tall archway) reaffirms the attachment to wine in this wine-growing village. Go visit this garden, you will discover the 7 grape varieties of Alsatian wines.
Athletes will not be left at the wayside with the only golf course in the Alsatian mountains, in Ammerschwihr. Its hilly location between the vines and the forest gives a really authentic scenery. It is possible to roam the greens all year round, in a rural environment overlooking the viticultural village.
