Exhibition - Ballade en paysages
Désirée Schroetter's interest in plant printing is born of the effects produced on paper by the structures of the leaves, their shapes and the emergence of lines as they pass through the press. The result is a new way of looking at nature, and particularly at what is not immediately visible. Today, her work focuses on composition and the poetry offered by the trace of living things. Her aim is to pass on this new perspective and, particularly through the creation of cards, to renew the time for writing and reflection. Working from a fusion of varied media and techniques, Sally Lewis-Ford offers a singular and stimulating perspective. Combining paint, ink, collage and found objects, compositions transcend traditional boundaries and invite the viewer to explore. Inspired by the natural beauty and cultural richness of the surrounding landscapes, the works reflect a connection with places near and far. Mixed-media pieces sometimes incorporate materials from nature, lending authenticity and closeness to the land, and inviting the viewer to discover layers, colors, lines and textures. For this first presentation of her plastic work, Jessie Marguerite Servenay has imagined and composed skies, horizons and perspectives under the sign of snowflakes. Engraving and painting rub shoulders in this series of paintings, each imbued with lightness and movement, inviting us to enter a world of colored echoes, appearances-disparitions and transparencies. After studying art history and archaeology, Jessie Marguerite Servenay devoted a large part of her life to dance, and was always drawn to drawing and color composition. She now devotes most of her time to painting, drawing and printmaking techniques.
