Shearing and textile day at the Bassette farm

Over the course of a weekend, come and discover Angora goat shearing, Mohair wool sorting and other wool and textile know-how. Enjoy a textile craft market, shearing demonstrations and discovery workshops.

Program :

- Shearing demonstrations: Angora goat shearing and explanations.
- Fleece sorting: explanations of Mohair fiber sorting and the importance of this stage for processing.
- Free walks to discover the animals
- Mohair store open.
- Refreshment bar and local snacks (sweet and savory crepes).
- Exhibition and sale of textile crafts: several exhibitors and artisans working with textiles and wool will be on hand to present their work and know-how.
- Workshops to discover textile crafts: weaving, felting, silk-screening, washing, fork lace, dyeing, etc.

You'll be able to discover a range of wool and textile crafts.

For each workshop, we open online registration, but if not all places are taken, you can still register on the day.

Each workshop has a different price, which includes set-up, materials and animation. Payment is due on site.

Please note that not all workshops offer the same number of places, nor are they suitable for all ages. Please respect the times for which you have registered.

Participants leave with their own little felted flowers / Hosted by Une Ferme à la Bassette.

- Weaving workshop: Introduction to the weaving technique. Creation of small frame decorations for hanging or bracelets. Participants leave with their creations / Animated by Une Ferme à la Bassette /

- Felting workshop: Learn the principles of felting from raw and dyed wool.

- Vegetable dyeing workshop: Discover textile dyeing using vegetable dyes. The workshop consists of preparing a dye bag with beads and cords, receiving explanations on vegetable dyeing, with demonstrations and a section on discovering dyeing plants.
