It concerns 3 areas - Alsace, Lorraine, and Franche-Comté - and 4 departments - Haut-Rhin, the Haute-Saône, the Vosges and the territory of Belfort - in all 208 communes in the Vosges solid massif, which gather their strength, in order to help the mountain to live fully.
It was created in 1989. On this territory, which covers an area of 3,000 hectares and covers 250,000 inhabitants, the Park has set itself 4 objectives :
- To protect and emphasize the wooded Hautes-Vosges and the slopes.
- To preserve the open landscape and the spaces of quality.
- To support the economic development by developing the heritage
- To contribute to the cultural development.
With its team of about thirty people, it intervenes in many fields in close cooperation with those who support the area.
Five different groups of activities are planned for the discovery of unspoilt nature and are linked with the Regional Natural Park of the Balloons of the Vosges to offer you various activities intended for the general public. They cover a broad range of aspects of the unspoilt heritage: unspoilt countryside and environment, fauna and flora, mines and geology, agriculture and forests...
