A quite town in bloom set among the vineyards and the forest, with several national awards in the competition for Best Towns and Villages in bloom. Reduced to ashes in 1945, during the ultimate fight for the re-conquest of sovereign territory, it has been charmingly restored in its rustic decor. The church, raised in honour of Saint Martin is still there, as well as the donjons and its ramparts. Ammershwihr is famous for its great wines, particularly the Kaefferkopf.
